Welcome!

If you were searching for www sudanco com which was our e-shop for SUDANCO, inc. Affordable Alternatives, we have good news for you. We changed our name. For some reason, we were not getting responses to the e-mails that were sent to public libraries, not yet customers. These were not mass e-mailings, or spam, but personalized e-mails addressing something found in the news or on the library’s website to which we would offer an affordable alternative. We never knew if it was because of a protective filter that was too restrictive or just a notion that the name of an African nation might portend a scam.

We named the company after our daughter, Suzanne, and our son Dan. We proudly serve librarians, manufacturers, retailers, & some government agencies with consumable supplies, labels, & equipment for product ID, quality control, freshness, price-marking, EAS, etc. We knew of an obscure African nation with a similar name, but failed to see the inherent problems of the name. As of mid 2005, our new name is Affordable Alternatives, Inc.

The old e-shop had served us well for over a decade, but it was very limited, dated, and incapable of upgrading, so we undertook the challenge of creating a new e-shop. It took almost two years to get it ready for you. During those two years, we had to update both sites, at least, twice a week. We selected a cart with much more potential, yet easy enough for me to be able to create it, usually after several failures for each new endeavor. It has also drastically reduced errors.

The new e-shop is designed for librarians that have never been able to e-shop before. Every library staffer may now browse, e-shop, and complete the transaction for over 1200 stock problem-solving products or order & reorder custom items entirely on-line. We neither require nor accept credit cards. You do not need any special user name, account number, password, or secret handshake to shop. Please delete any old links and just logon to:

Please continue to read below for helpful instructions:

Simply select the major areas of interest from our home page (book genre) and select more defined areas of interest from the following sub-menus (Mystery) until the exact group of labels appear on the right hand side of the screen. Then select exactly the label you want. Note the size, colors, number of labels per roll, and quantity price breaks. Input the number of rolls that you need and click on Add to Cart.

This will take you to the cart to review you order. When satisfied with that selection, scroll to the bottom of the page & click Continue Shopping which will return you to the last page you shopped. Then click on our url at the top of the page to return to the home page. Repeat this cycle until all of your order is placed.

Complete the data on the cart checkout page and input your PO# twice. If you do not use PO#s, please input “99". If you must obtain the PO# from another person, please copy the order on to an email & send it to the person in purchasing who will assign the PO# or print the order form and attach your requisition and mark it “As per attached”. At any time during the next seven days, you may go back to the order, modify, if needed, and insert the newly obtained PO#, twice.

Then and only then should you submit this order. Watch the screen carefully. If you have made an error that the cart can catch, it will prompt to make corrections. Continue to correct & submit until you get a Thank You. In a few minutes, we will get your order & you will get an order acknowledgment. Please compare your purchase order to the order acknowledgment for errors. If they are in agreement, you have completed this task.

Suppose there is a problem. It is correctable. Simply go back to the e-shop and reenter your order. For instance, a librarian recently was trying to order two boxes of DATE DUE labels. She entered a 2 for two boxes as she had done many times on our old site, however in this case, it meant only two rolls. She then entered 42 rolls which is 2 boxes of 21 rolls each. Then she took the order# “1947" from the e-mailed order acknowledgment and used it in the Comments box:

“This order voids & replaces order #1947.”

This would need to be done ASAP, because we usually ship all e-shop orders on the day they arrive.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve your library,
